梅特希教堂 Metekhi Church

始建于公元5世纪的梅特西教堂，坐落在老城的对岸，“梅特西”意指皇宫的周边。在19世纪，这里曾经作为监狱使用，高尔基曾经被关押在这里。教堂边上有一座“格鲁吉亚之父”的雕像，很有气势。 教堂所在的区域，根据当地的传统描述，瓦赫坦格一世（Vakhtang I Gorgasali，447-502年）国王在这里设立了一个堡垒和教堂，供国王居住。
