位于马普托湾东部的伊尼卡亚岛，属于莫桑比克的马普托省，岛屿与莫桑比克的首都马普托隔海相望。由于潮汐的变化，岛屿距离大陆最近的距离在500米左右。岛上有几个小村子，还有一个小型机场。
