皮特河博物馆坐落在维多利亚式的建筑中，主要收藏古人类学的相关物品。博物馆不算大，但展品颇丰，因此展馆中央看起来略有拥挤。内部设计独特，有各种生物的标本，尤其是各种恐龙的标本，很有意思。 对于孩子们和好奇心强的成年人来说，这是最好的博物馆。这里展示着成千上万的生物标本，足以吸引任何人驻足好几个小时。另外这家博物馆也很有教育意义，适合所有的家庭。
